Where do I start. I guess it started from 1) my online RPG game not working, then getting a few crashes, 2) then deleting spybot because it refuses to work, avg also because it refuses to update, 3) pc crashed again because of failed microsoft updates, -downloaded ccleaner and used it, also pc optimizer, did a disk cleanup, defrag, downloaded avira antivirus and spyware terminator, scanned and removed only a few viruses, deleted registry keys- 4) deleted spyware terminator because i kept getting errors 5) firefox crashing RANDOMLY as I load pages (specifically facebook, or pages that take long to load) 6) pc crashes randomly too (4 times max) 7) spybot refuses to install. 8) msn messenger refuses to work (cos of hosts files) 9) Aviria antivirus DEACTIVATING BY ITSELF 10) Slow computer even with 34 GB of free space 11) cpu making annoying humming noises After msn messenger stopped working, I checked hosts files from this system32 drivers thingy, and I saw a BIG list of weird viruses in notepad, *inserted* by spybot. I was doing a search for movie sites, and this phony security bit called 'Winweb Security' jumped on board, if you will. It stays in the tray at the bottom right of my screen. I can't right click on it, but it accepts all left clicks (and eagerly displays messages saying I must purchase 'Winweb Security' spyware remover to free myself of this nightmare). I have now downloaded three spyware remover programs, but this backdoor monster (Winweb Security) still can't even be tracked. What 'Winweb Security' does (I believe) is it spits out different viruses on my computer. Then about every 10 minutes, it will pop up different kinds of warnings saying my computer is [on its way to being fried hardware] due to this and that kind of virus or whatever. (Nice; it just did it.) The only choice 'Winweb Security' gives me is to use a credit card to purchase their own spyware remover (not happening). Talk about a bully virus distributor. AVG,Spybot, and SUPERAntiSpyware together can't track this 'Winweb Security' monster. Are there any free downloads out there that can track, drag out, and assassinate this program? I'm not to up to date on what the difference is in all of these but I would like to download a good and FREE program that gets rid of and protects me from spyware and viruses and such. Voting Question: How can I remove Worm/AutoRun virus?

Viruses have been coming thick and fast for me over the past few weeks. I battled to the death with the horrific Trojan.DNS Changer and came out victorious, whilst discovering several Worm.FakeAlerts and a few infected files in my Windows (Vista) Registry since downloading and scanning with several new anti-virus/spyware programs (Ad-Aware, Spyware Doctor, SUPERAntiSpyware etc). So, after a good two weeks of fighting off viruses and enduring a trafficked internet connection (as a result of the trojan), finally I was virus-free. Or so I thought... During AVG's most recent scheduled scan, in the early hours of this morning, two 'Worm/AutoRun' infections had been discovered on my computer and placed into the Virus Vault. The respective infected files paths are as follows: 1) D:\autorun.inf and 2) J:\autorun.inf ----------> My External Hard Drive. I have read several other Yahoo! Answers responses to questions regarding the same infection, but the instructions as to how to remove the worm are a little too unnecessarily complex for me. Could someone please tell me how to remove these two infections without having to create a new registry key that disables the AutoPlay feature and whatnot, I would just like it plain and simple please. Obviously I am not retarded I can follow instructions I would just like to be able to successfully deal with the infection without the need for meddling with the registry. Do I need to unplug my External Hard Drive to expose the threat and remove it? Do I need to scan/remove in Safe Mode?? Could this be why I have had SOOOO many unwanted/unexplained temporary files and folders formed over the past few weeks??? I have removed all the other viruses I had (which, I must say, presumably all derived from a 'Trojan Downloader' virus that I got off LimeWire (Pro, not that it's really any safer whatsoever) having downloaded what I believed to be an [unreleased] song. Asking for trouble I know, so now LimeWire is long gone. But the removal of these viruses, malware and spyware threats has not taken any of the suspicious temporary files and folders with them. 3 unexplained temporary folders that formed in C:\Program Files alone were 'InstallShield Installation Information', 'Uninstall Information' and 'Zero G Registry'. Hello, due to several security issues I've decided to switch to firefox. I use Avast Anti-virus (free) and superspyware for anti-spyware. Three questions: 1. Is it really as simple as downloading the new browser and using it just like IE? Nothing else needed? 2. Will using this new browser create any conflicts with regards to my Anti-Virus/spyware software, or has anyone had issues when using firefox and Avast/superspyware? Voting Question: How do I get rid of a virus when I cannot download any antivirus stuff?

My computer recently started having problems with Spyware Guard 2008 showing up on it. I have already done the removal of it, and it keeps reinstalling. Then I started getting pop-ups. Now I can't get to any of the sites to download any help (i.e. malwarbytes, free AVG, etc.... none of them work, all I get is another pop-up and redirected to a google search for whichever one I'm trying). Is there a way to manually go in and remove whatever is keeping me from getting rid of this problem. PLEASE! Don't give me a list of stuff to try and download to fix the problem because the problem is I can NOT download (sorry if that came off rude, but the other people that seemed to have asked similar questions are mostly getting more ideas on what to download to get rid of such and such virus). Basically I just need a set of instructions on how to go in and find the problem and remove it so I can actually go in and get some anti-virus software on the computer.I have already tried via safe mode with networking. My desktop clearly has a virus. I just got it second hand from my sister-in-law and haven't been trying to find my copy of Panda to put on it, but got hit with the virus before I could find my copy. First I got the Spyware Guard 2008 thing popping up at random even though I hadn't installed it. I went through safe mode to remove it, but it reinstalls itself about every 5 minutes. Also a fake Norton installed itself as well but I have not been successful in removing it from the computer at all. Not too long after these two showed up on my comp did I start getting between 1 and 5 pop ups on every page I went to. Now in trying to get free AVG on there to help find the virus(es) I can't get on the website to get the download. Everytime I do (either through google or typing the address in directly) I get just a pop up and sent back to the google search for free AVG. What is going on? Please help! Ill explain everything. A couple days ago my computer started acting really weird, it was opening tabs with advertisements for video games and such.. So I googled and discovered it was some type of spyware or malware, w/e and downloaded this SuperAntiSpyware program that detected 35 things on my computer and removed them and my computer worked fine. Then last night I went to get on my computer and it was frozen and there was this website that popped up and it was all grey and the website said something "Spyware2008" I'm assuming this is related to the notorious scamming Antivirus2008, and a little box that said to Run program as if something had dl into my computer. I restarted the computer and it acted so weird. It killed off my McAfee antivirus, my superspyware program, another spyware program I had, it wouldn't let me click on links that I googled it would instead open another tab with some advertisement, the only way I could click the link was by clicking the "Cache" link.. I couldn't go into ANY spyware program websites whatsoever every single different one said my server couldn't connect - through either Mozilla or regular IE. Then it was telling me the administrator had blocked registry editing - I was finally able to find a website by clicking on cache with something to put in that re opened it.. then I was able to dl firethreat spyware program off a website that promoted it with a direct download, it ran and detected 3 diff things it removed.. my computer was still acting weird I restarted and when it re loaded at the top left it said "Customizing...." with all these different things from my computer, my desktop was totally different, all my programs that had to do with removing viruses/worms were not working.. I restored my computer and it still acted weird.. Finally this morning I tried finding recovery, they had removed recovery.. after awhile I was able to restore recovery as an option when I boot the computer.. I completely recovered the computer, but oddly when it logged back on previous programs I had dl were still there (Like Mozilla) I just needed to reinstall them.. I just ran a 2 month free trial of Norton that comes with my computer after installing updates and it found 2 trojan horses and 3 worms (something backdoor). but it says I have to manually remove them. I tried manually removing them and I can't.. I can't find where they are in the registery and I followed directions very carefully. I even tried running norton in safe mode and it wouldnt run in safe mode even after the website said it would. My computer is running "fine" for now except the worms & viruses still left and it has an issue with restarting or turning off. I'm sooo irritated, what can I do? Someone PLEASE help me? My computer gets many pop-ups and Spyware Guard keeps showing up. I've removed all the files of Spyware Guard at the Control Panel but it still shows up. I have McAfee. O.k -this is going to take some explaining so please bear with me - Around the first of November I noticed my 2005 Dell notebook had contracted the "antivirus 2008' virus. I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes, ran my AVG, and did a system restore - problem solved (or was it?!) Fast-forward to last Tuesday - I notice an icon in the taskbar "spyware guard 2008" - Here we go again.... Run the AVG and malwarebytes like last time - objects detected and deleted (msg said some had to be deleted during restart). A few hours later, I notice the icon is back, along with pop-ups. NOW the real trouble begins! I begin to look for better free anti- software online. Open firefox, type criteria in google, google results appear. I select a link to lavasoft.com for S & D, but my browser gives me an error msg asking me to check the address or check firewall settings. Strange....I return to search results and select another option (a site that recommends free protection downloads. This is when I noticed my browser was taking me to a different website that resembled a pop-up. I bypassed the search engine and pasted the link in the address bar. I was not allowed to go to any website re: antivirus, spyware removal, etc. However, I have no problem accessing other websites like this and myspace. My firewall settings seem fine. At this point I realized something was def. wrong. I restarted my computer and along with the antivirus msg, I got 2 a RUNDLL error msgs from windows (they look authentic) "could not find c:\windows\system32\subiruhu.dll & could not find.....\kitejieudl. Ok - time to system restore, right? Nope! I was able to select the last restore point on the computer, but the 'next' button would not work. I am unable to do it, I cannot even back up the calender to the previous month! Whhhaaaaat? Since I was not able to access antivirus websites, I looked up tips for a manual removal of the virus. However, I could not find most of the files for removal ( checked hidden also). Something is seriously wrong! I attempted to backup my pictures and docs in case of an emergency but my CD drive is not working either! I zipped the files and tried to email them to myself and my mom through gmail but the email would not send ( I spent my afternoon loading 300 pictures onto photobucket as it was my only form of backup). I then removed all adobe, java, and other programs. I cannot run a disk defrag. O.K I know that no one will probably even read this because it is entirely too long and boring, but there is no use in finding a possible sure if I don't give details. My computer is a wreck - pop-ups from the spyguard are everywhere, I cannot re-install adobe, etc. Browsers stop working abruptly and I have to restart to get it to work. My computer wont complete restart unless I unplug the adapter and remove the battery.......What is going on? Should I try to Repair install Xp or clean install? ANY info would be helpful. To those of you who are still managing to read this crap, thank you soooo much!Thank you all for your help - a clean install is my best option - however, my CD drive will not read the XP CD when attempting to install! So I'm here on my work computer, clicking around my usual sites and all of the sudden I have a Mirar Toolbar. I didn't download it. I didn't agree to it. I want it gone. Yet, when I go to remove programs I can't get it to come up. I can't get the Mirar website to come up either. I've downloaded a handful of free anti-spyware programs recommended to get rid of Mirar but it still keeps popping up when I open a new browser window. I've even gone so far as to attempt to remove it manualy. The files it said to delete aren't there...not to mention I know too little about the computers operations to even be attempting it. Again, this is my work computer. I don't want to pay for software to get rid of it. Especially if it's not a sure thing. Has anyone rescently had this problem and corrected it? Please tell me what you did and/or what programs you used. I have spent the better part of an afternoon attempting to get rid of this damned thing.Malwarebites did indeed remove it. Yay! My firewall on Windows blocked "some features" of the Trojan and I got some anti-spyware program from my grandparents. Voting Question: Avira anti virus protection doesn't work.. AVG online scanner browser hijacker?

IT friggin slowed down my computer and wouldn't let me open the internet. like a million warning popup things telling me that they found suspicious thread blah blah came up. So I had to delete it. Luckily it let me open up add/remove programs. So my problem is with pop ups coming up well they are like new internet pages that come up idk I think it may be a virus /spyware. anyone recomend any anti virus thats free? There was also a weird message coming up saying there could be suspicious virus/threats blah blah click yes or cancel I clicked cancel but the pop up wouldn't go away so I had to restart my computer what is with that? I read somewhere that AVG online scanner is not really a scanner at all its a fake website or w/e so I am not downloading AVG so don't recomend that. is the AVG online scanner the same thing as the antivirus program? here is the site saying its harmful or what not. http://www.411-spyware.com/avg-online-scanner-comI use WOT, and spybot S&D and Googlepop up blocker only works in internet explorer so it says anyways. Resolved Question: My computer is infected and has popups and an unwanted toolbar?

I don't know what happened but all of the sudden my so pop-up blocker is not stopping pop-ups. They are all trying to sell spyware saying my computer is infected. They added a toolbar (mirar) across the top of my internet screen and it won't allow me to take it off. Resolved Question: How to I get rid of the software "Spyware Protector"?

A couple of week ago, some rogue anti-virus software called "Spyware Protector" downloaded itself onto my computer without my permission. It wasn't listed on my programs and settings list, so I had to search through various hidden files and delete the original source. Now, although the program doesn't seem to be on my computer system- but it has affected my internet, as quite often my internet explorer for no apparent reason has to restart itself. Sometimes when I click on links on common websites such as Youtube and Faceook, and it tells me that there is "Insecure Internet activity. Threat of virus attack." and asks me if I want to buy the full version of Spyware Protector. It's driving me round the bend, is there any program I can download for free, use to get rid of Spyware Protector, then delete it afterwards. Or is there anyother way without downloading anything? A fake notification from window's security pops up when my desktop first loads up saying there is spyware called Spyware.ISpyNow and it is stealing personal information from my computer. I know this is untrue but there is malware or spyware or whatever messing my computer up. It redirects my google links and cuts me off from any anti-spyware websites. It also closes my programs which i have open like AIM and Firefox. It won't let me download malwarebytes or ad-aware and my Mcafee antivirus doesnt detect it. It is really bothering me because i have to run my computer in safe-mode in order for it to work semi-properly. Anyone know a free solution to my problem? It would save me much frustration more

ok...here's the deal.. 1.) whenever i surf the net ( i use firefox ) another window pops up automatically with a pop up sort of...buts its near full screen... 2.) a window telling me something like, "ATTN your computer may be infected with malware or spyware and should be cleaned...continue?? (recomended)" and i think its total bull s... kuz it seems fake and on the bottom corner of my screen where there are icons there is a little read shield...and thats normal but then a second pops up and it is flashing...which i suspect is the fake one...and a small little yellow window pops up from it saying your computer has a virus click here to solve the problem or something like that...i doubt its the real one... 3.) on my desktop there are 2 icons that KEEP reappearing saying "gay fetish sex" and something about "POrn"....they are very annoying and even when i delete them and empty the recycle bin they still come back 4.) sometimes, a window will pop up and say "your computer is shutting down unexpectadly etc...and it seems like the computer is rebooting, but when i press ALT+CTRL+DELETE the task manager comes up and its a fake reboot on my moniter... this seems to be a very terrible and annoying thing.... 5.) i have download AVG FREE EDITION from download.com and have installed it....it did scan and find some trojan horse viruses (about 51 files) and it said it disinfected them and rebooted the computer for real.......then when it turned on another pop up came out saying "your computer may be infected with spyware etc." being a fake meaning the stupid virus still is not gone....WHAT THE FCUK do i do???!?!?!?!! Recently, since yesterday actually, I can't update my avg virus program. It keeps saying update server failed to connect. This has never happened before on my computer. I checked my firewall settings and I don't think it has anything to do with it because I have spyware terminator too for a long time ever since I downloaded avg and its updating fine. Does anyone know how I fix this updating problem or if there is anything wrong? I highly doubt its because of the 2 programs running together. This is a little bit frustrating. I downloaded with my Comcast service the free McAffee service. But I'm no longer with them. I can't even log into IE before it locks up and slaps me to the stupid "your computer is infected with...". I did locate a program, Gadware.exe that I know is the issue.
